not midterms, semester exams

midterms next week.
oooo, let me see if I can post a picture (a first) of a subject totally unrelated to midterms (or maybe, who’s to say?)

amo amaretti

la la la, making amarettis, still in the fridge but soon to be in ze toaster oven!
always wanted one of those little rip-off easy bake cake ovens when I was little, but now that I’ve burned down the toaster with my little tortilla chip snafoo, we have a proper toaster oven, which is worlds better and makes cookies besides. well, you have to make the cookies, but the oven’ll bake them for you. excuse me. a little oven that spat out cookies wouldn’t be that bad though, depending. Unless it never ever stopped and you ended up in a massive pile of amarettis. but then again, then again…

terrifying happy poo

found a little youtube video thing on raincoaster, this other wordpress blog, for japanese potty-training. it includes little animated tigers (mommy, daddy and baby tiger) who dance and sing when baby tiger ‘goes’ on the toilet. In fact, at one point, this ball of confetti breaks over them and they have another little poo celebration. then he gets big boy pants, etc… the end bit is strangest, though. I’ll see if I can post it.

i make stuff up

ooo. made a new site: 1. i make stuff up. the one bit is because someone had that title before, but even though that’s all deleted now, wordpress won’t let me use it. I don’t mind.

It hasn’t got anything at all on it now except for the nasty little hello world thing. Dunno what i’ll do with it even. but it shall be interesting, no less. and I won’t stop with 60, i’ll keep posting here. no worries.

scrub a dub dub

ouch. I reek of disinfectant and i’m covered in enough cat hair to constitute, as jaymie decided, a cashmere sweater. And I scrubbed no less than ten cages, twelve mats, and who knows how many litterboxes today. mmmn, the sweet smell of cat poo.

a fishy affair

being proper italians, la famille had to have at least seven fishies on the christmas eve supper menu, though I think there were probably many more than that( shoot for twelve, fourteen if you count shrimp three ways) but considering that we normally have about forty people that’s hardly a lot of food. but still, when you go, you smell que les fruits de la mer.

ummmm lets see

- two versions of stuffed calamari
- shrimpy and white fagioli something
- sardines in tomato sauce (antipasto)
- smoked baby clams and mussels, I think, and anchovies with capers (also antipasto)
- other stuff in the antipasto
- shrimp and scallops with alfredo linguine
- some sort of disgusting soup
- asparagus with parmesan
- octopus with yummy stuff on it
-bread & butter
- lots of other whatsit

and for dessert:
-pizzele
-coffee
-ricotta cake/ pie (?)
-baked alaska for my lovely brother’s birthday (christmas eve)
-biscotti

yeah, lots of food. lots and lots of food.

anything on a stick

terry gave me a little blue sock-bunny for christmas. it’s of a stuff like tights, bound up with thread to make a bunny face ( three stitches form three lobes, nose and each cheeky thing). Then there’s two sock- covered wire ears. apparently she got it in thailand. it’s very small.
but when I came home and mum came in after me (by an hour) she saw it and reminded me of the little paper or sock-animals on long twisted papery wands that I used to get when I was little at the fair. they look similar. but what she said was ” ‘member those little animals on sticks that you used to get?” to which I replied ” doesn’t that make it sound a bit cruel?” sounds like ritual sacrifice, in fact.

and it has a fur ruff around its neck. a bit weird, but still quite cute. makes me want to make one.
